If your study programme has a modular structure and is administered via Friedolin, you need to register for courses via the Apply for moduels / Cancel application menu item. This is the only way we can consider the priorities you choose between multiple courses within a module, for example selecting 1 out of 10 possible seminars assigned to a module (see also How do I choose priorities when it comes to registering for a course?).

The Apply for moduels / Cancel application function only displays the modules that are relevant for you. The courses taken will later be listed on your academic record.

If courses are part of programmes that are not administered in Friedolin or of other programmes than the one you are enrolled in, you need to register for them using the Schedule of classes menu item (see also How do I register for courses via the Schedule of classes?).

If a course has multiple groups, students are registered for these groups based on the priorities they have chosen (see also How do I choose priorities when it comes to registering for a group?).

It is possible to register for courses starting from what we call the Friedolin semester transition date (see Dates) throughout the entire lecture period up until the next semester transition. Please note that it is a two-step registration process: You first apply for registration which does not yet mean that you also have been admitted to a course and in the second step you are admitted. When you apply for registration you express your wish to receive a course place and it is only during the automatic allocation of course places process that you are actually admitted to the course and receive a place (see Dates). If you register for a course after the allocation of course places or for courses the places in which are allocated manually, you can only be admitted by the teacher of the course (see also When should I register for courses?).
