If the Number of Students presumably turning up of a course is set to = 0, the teacher assigned to the course must manually admit students to the course. If the Number of Students presumably turning up of a course is set to > 0, the course places are automatically allocated (see also How does the automatic allocation of course places work?).

Regardless of the kind of allocation of places set in Friedolin, teachers can manually admit participants to their courses during the entire Friedolin semester (see Dates). It is a prerequsite that the participants have applied to register for the course and that they are therefore on the course's list of participants (regardless of the status of their registration). Please note that the admission of participants must not depend on the time of their application (according to the first come, first served principle). Therefore, the first manual admissions should be made around the time of the 1st or 2nd automatic allocation of course places. It is within the discretion of the teachers to admit more students to their courses than the maximum number of participants set. They should, however, consider the size of the room.

If you are a teacher and want to manually admit a student to your course, please click on the Application info link and then on Edit participants. Change the status to ZU and save the setting. If several groups have been created for the course, please be aware which group the participants have applied for. Click on the "AN → ZU" button to admit a batch of students.

Participants can withdraw from a course within the withdrawal deadlines, regardless of the status of their registration. Outside the withdrawal deadlines, it is only possible to withdraw if the the status of registration is set to AN. Learn more about the withdrawal process on the What are the course registration and withdrawal deadlines? page).
