• gute technische Kenntnisse bei Windows-Betriebssystemen

Lösung und Umsetzung

Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung: Verantwortlichen Eintrag des Windows Installer (MSI) entfernen.

1. Windows Registrierung öffnen:
   
   1. über "Start" bzw. Windowssymbol, "Ausführen" eintippen und mit Enter bestätigen (im Startmenü ist die Anwendung "Ausführen" auch im Ordner "Windows-System" zu finden
   2. "regedit" eintippen und bestätigen
   3. ggf. zulassen, dass die Anwendung Änderungen am System vornehmen darf.

2. In der Registrierung oben in der Leiste, in welcher das Wurzelverzeichnis "Computer" angegeben ist, folgende Zeichenkette hineinkopieren und mit Enter bestätigen.

3. Hier liegen alle MSI-Einträge (Microsoft Software Installer), genannt Products. Für jede Software gibt es i.d.R. einen Schlüssel, welcher mit einer ID versehen ist (Name des Schlüssels). Diese IDs sind einzigartig, das heißt, auf anderen Systemen werden sich diese trotz gleicher Software unterscheiden. Unter diesen IDs ist jeweils ein String-Schlüssel (REG_SZ) mit dem Namen "ProductName". Nun ist der Schlüssel zu suchen, bei welchem der "ProductName" "Cisco

Solution and implementation

Step-by-step instructions: Remove the responsible Windows Installer (MSI) entry.

1. Open Windows Registry:
   
   1. using "Start" or the Windows symbol, type "Run" and confirm with Enter (in the start menu, the "Run" application can also be found in the "Windows System" folder
   2. Type “regedit” and confirm
   3. If necessary, allow the application to make changes to the system.

2. In the registry at the top of the bar where the root directory "Computer" is specified, copy the following character string and confirm with Enter.

3. All MSI entries (Microsoft Software Installer), called Products, are located here. For every software there is usually a key which is provided with an ID (name of the key). These IDs are unique, which means that they will differ on other systems despite having the same software. Each of these IDs has a string key (REG_SZ) with the name “ProductName”. Now you have to look for the key where the “ProductName” is “Cisco Secure Client - AnyConnect VPN”.

4. Delete the entire key (e.g. Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\4BC4AB0F63CE7F546A72535B480592BA).

5. The system must then be restarted.
6. Try to reinstall Cisco Secure Client
