| Please note that two university portals are currently running in parallel: This means that students at the University of Jena are currently using these two systems to manage their studies until the new Friedolin 2.0 (HISinOne) system is fully rolled out. What can you find in Friedolin 1.0 and 2.0? - Friedolin 1.0 system:
Schedule of classes, course registration, module catalogues, examination administration (e.g. view grades) - Friedolin 2.0 system:
University applications, university admissions, online applications (leave of absence, refunds of fees, etc.)
Log-in You only need to log in once (single sign-on – SSO) and can then switch between both systems effortlessly. (in progress, see also news item dated November 19, 2025 on the Friedolin homepage.) |
18 November 2025 | Change of contact details |
| Students can change their contact details (e-mail address, telephone number and postal address) themselves in the new Friedolin 2.0 system. It is no longer necessary to submit a formal application to change your address. You can find instructions here. |
18 November 2025 | Changes to the enrolment process |
| Starting in summer semester 2026, you only need to sent a short enrolment application form with a copy of your ID card to the University. You will upload all other documents required for enrolment electronically during the enrolment process or they will be transferred from your application documents. |

| You can generate most decision letters and certificates yourself. You can find instructions here. |
18 November 2025 | Part-time study |
| Until winter semester 2025/26, all part-time students will still be recorded using full programme semesters. Starting in summer semester 2026, programme semesters will be halved upon successful enrolment for part-time study. The count for previous semesters will remain unchanged. The Certificate of academic progress and the current certificate of student status for each individual semester provide you with a complete overview. Programme semesters will only be halved once a new application for part-time study has been approved. It will be possible to submit such applications after the launch of the new Student Service, at the earliest for the summer semester 2026. Information on switching to part-time study. |

18 November 2025 | Change of programme / concurrent enrolment in two degree programmes |
| If you want to apply for a different degree programme or enrol in two degree programmes simultaneously, please use the Application page in Friedolin 2.0. If you want to change to a degree programme with restricted admission, you must receive an admission offer. You can find instructions on how to change your degree programme here.
