    Achtung! Ohne die Einbindung des Root-Zertifikates ist die Verbindung nicht ausreichend gesichert. Es wird dringend empfohlen, den hier beschriebenen Weg zu folgen, da Ihr Endgerät sonst nicht überprüfen kann, ob Ihre Anmeldedaten einem echten Eduroam-Access-Point anvertraut werden. Wird das Sicherheitszertifikat nicht eingebunden, kann Ihr Konto der Universität Jena leicht "gehackt" werden.

    Voraussetzungen

    • ein aktives Nutzerkonto der Universität Jena
    • eine Ubuntuversion ab 18.04 (bionic beaver)
    • Root-Rechte oder Superuser (sudo) auf dem Zielgerät
    • Internetzugang (Mobile Daten, HotSpot, etc.)

    Einrichten des Eduroam-WLANs (manuell)

    1. Schritt: Update und Upgrade der Softwarekomponenten

    Öffnen Sie das Linuxterminal mit der Tastenkombination 

    Strg + Alt + T

    Folgende Befehle aktualisieren die Liste der Pakete und deren Abhängigkeiten und installieren diese anschließend.

    [Nutzer@Gerätename]:~$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

    Bestätigen Sie den Befehl mit Enter und geben Sie Ihr Passwort ein. Bestätigen Sie die Installation mit Enter und geben Sie auf Ihren Tastaturfeld J oder Y ein wenn Sie die Aufforderung dazu erhalten. 

    2. Schritt: Alte Eduroam-WLAN-Profile löschen

    Sollte auf dem Endgerät nie Eduroam eingerichtet worden sein, können Sie direkt mit Schritt 3 fortfahren.

    Öffnen Sie die WLAN-Einstellung.

    Öffnen Sie das entsprechende Eduroam-Profil, indem Sie auf das Zahnrad neben "eduroam" klicken.

    Klicken Sie auf "Verbindung entfernen".

    3. Schritt: Eduroam-Profil einrichten und Sicherheitszertifikat auswählen

    Für einen sicheren Verbindungsaufbau sind einige Einstellungen sowie die Installation eines Sicherheitszertifikates notwendig. Letzteres stellt sicher, dass Ihr Endgerät nicht einfach jedem (böswilligen) Access-Point vertraut und Ihre Anmeldedaten weitergibt.

    Öffnen Sie die Wlan-Einstellungen, indem Sie auf die Symbole oben rechts auf dem Bildschirm klicken und dann "Einstellungen" auswählen.

    Ihnen sollte nun eine Liste von Wlan-Verbindungen angezeigt werden. Wählen Sie "eduroam" aus.

    Es öffnet sich ein Fenster. Klicken Sie als erstes in die Spalte "CA certificate" und wählen Sie "Select from file..." aus.

    Es öffnet sich erneut ein Fenster, in welchem Sie zu dem Speicherort der Sicherheitszertifikate navigieren müssen.

    Klicken Sie auf den im Bild oben markierten Pfeil.

    Nun werden neue Symbole in der Leiste angezeigt. Klicken Sie auf das Festplattensymbol, welches im Bild markiert wurde.

    Wählen Sie in der Liste von Ordnern, die Ihnen nun angezeigt werden den Ordner "etc" aus.

    Als nächstes müssen Sie in den "ssl"-Ordner navigieren (Eventuell müssen Sie in der Liste etwas scrollen, um den Ornder angezeigt zu bekommen).

    Klicken Sie auf den Ordner "certs".Image Removed

    Es wird Ihnen nun eine Liste mit allen Sicherheitszertifikaten angzeigt. Wenn Sie den 1. Schritt befolgt haben, müsste in der Liste die Datei "ISRG_Root_X1.pem" vorhanden sein.

    Klicken Sie auf diese Datei und anschließend oben rechts im Fenster auf den grünen "Open" Button.

    In der "CA certificate" Zeile wird nun die ausgewählte Datei angezeigt.

    Nun können Sie die restlichen Informationen eintragen, so wie diese im Bild oben zu sehen sind.

    Im Feld "Username" ist das URZ-Login mit direkt angehangenen "@uni-jena.de" einzugeben, bspw. ab12cde@uni-jena.de (nicht die E-Mail-Adresse), bei "Password" das dazugehörige Passwort.

    Anschließend drücken Sie auf "Connect". Ihr Gerät verbindet sich nun mit Eduroam, wenn Ihre Anmeldedaten korrekt sind.

    Setting up the Eduroam Wifi (manually)

    1. Step: Update and upgrade the software components

    Open the Linuxterminal with the key combination 

    Strg + Alt + T

    Update and upgrade the system with the following command:

    Confirm the command with Enter and enter your password. Confirm the installation with Enter and type J or Y on your keypad when prompted. 

    2. Step: Delete old Eduroam WLAN profiles

    If Eduroam has never been set up on the end device, you can directly continue directly with with step 3.

    Open the Wi-Fi setting.

    Open the eduroam settings by clicking on the gear next to "eduroam".

    Click "Remove connection".

    4. Step: Install Eduroam profile with CAT

    For a secure connection setup, some settings and the installation of a security certificate are necessary. The latter ensures that your end device does not simply trust any (malicious) access point and pass on your login data.

    Open the Wifi-Settings by klicking clicking on the Symbols on the top right corner on your screen and selecting select "settings".

    You should now see a list of the available Wifi-connections. Select "eduroam".

    A new window is shown. First select the row "CA certificate" and klick click on "Select from file..." in the drop-down menu.

    Now you have to navigate to the folder in which the certificates are stored.

    Now new symbols are shown. Klick Click on the one that is marked in the picture above.

    In the list of folders on the screen klick click on the one named "etc".

    Now klick click on the folder named "ssl" (You might have to scroll down the list to find it).

    Now you are being shown there is a list of certificates. If you followed the 1. step there should be the file "ISRG_Root_X1.pem" in the list. 

    Select this file and klick click on the green "Open" Button in the top right of the window.

    In the "CA certificate" row the selected file should now be visible.

    Now you can fill out the rest of the rows with the information that is shown in the picture above.

    In the field "Username" enter the URZ login with "@uni-jena.de" directly attached, e.g. ab12cde@uni-jena.de (not the e-mail address), in the field "Password" enter the corresponding password. 

    Finally klick click on "Connect". If your Login-Information is correct you should now be connected with the eduroam-network.
