Unter Internetzugang für mobile Geräte (WLAN, Eduroam) (uni-jena.de) finden Sie weitere Informationen zum Eduroam-Netzwerk. Einrichten des Eduroam-WLANs mit "geteduroam"1. Schritt: alte Eduroam-WLAN-Netzwerke und Profile löschenSollte Eudroam auf dem Endgerät bisher niemals eingerichtet worden sein, können Sie direkt mit Schritt 2 fortfahren.
Zunächst werden alle Eduroam-WLANs gelöscht. Dafür wird das Menü "WLAN" in den "Einstellungen" des Gerätes aufgerufen.
Mit Tippen auf das eingekreiste "i" an eventuell vorhandenen Eduroam-WLANs werden weitere Optionen eingeblendet.
Das entsprechende WLAN wird mit Tippen auf "Dieses Netzwerk ignorieren" entfernt. Diese Schritte sind für alle eventuell vorhandenen Eduroam-WLANs notwendig. Weiterhin muss sichergestellt werden, dass keine Eduroam-Konfigurationsprofile einer anderen Institution (Hochschule, Universität) installiert sind.
Dazu rufen Sie "Einstellungen" → "Allgemein" → "Profile & Geräteverwaltung" / "VPN und Geräteverwaltung" (in neueren iOS-Versionen) auf. Wenn dieses Menü nicht existiert, können Sie direkt mit Schritt 2 fortfahren.
Unter "KONFIGURATIONSPROFIL" müssen alle Eduroam-Profile mit einem Klick auf "Profil entfernen" entfernt werden. 2. Schritt: "geteduroam" im App Store laden und ein sicheres Eduroam-Profil installierenFür einen sicheren Verbindungsaufbau sind einige Einstellungen sowie die Installation eines Sicherheitszertifikats notwendig. Letzteres stellt sicher, dass Ihr Endgerät nicht jedem (böswilligen) Access-Point vertraut und Ihre Anmeldedaten weitergibt.
Die Installation des Zertifikates sowie das Setzen der Einstellungen müssen nicht mühsam per Hand durchgeführt werden. Dafür gibt es im Apple App Store die App "geteduroam" vom Entwickler SURF B.V. - welche zu laden ist.
Nach Start der App, wird das Profil für die Friedrich-Schiller-Universität gesucht und ausgewählt.
Im Feld "Benutzername" ist das URZ-Login mit direkt angehangenen "@uni-jena.de" einzugeben, bspw. ab12cde@uni-jena.de (nicht die E-Mail-Adresse), bei "Kennwort" das dazugehörige Passwort.
Nach Eingabe der Anmeldedaten installiert die App das Sicherheitszertifikat und erstellt ein WLAN-Verbindungs-Profil für eduroam. Dies muss erlaubt werden. 3. Schritt: Eduroam-Verbindung mit URZ-Login (Universitätsrechenzentrum) herstellen
Mit Tippen auf "Verbinden" wird sofort versucht, eine Verbindung herzustellen.
Sofern ein Access Point in Reichweite ist und die eingegebenen Daten gültig sind wird die Verbindung erfolgreich aufgebaut. Sollte das Eduroam während der Einrichtung außer Reichweite sein, verbindet sich das Gerät später, sobald es einen Access Point findet. Herzlichen Glückwunsch! To avoid complications during installation, all old WLANs must be removed. To do this, call up the "WLAN" menu in the "Settings" of the device.
Tapping the circled "i" on any existing Eduroam WLAN will bring up additional options.
The corresponding WLANs is removed by tapping "Ignore this network". These steps are necessary for all possibly existing Eduroam WLANs. Furthermore, it must be ensured that no Eduroam configuration profiles from another institution (university) are installed.
To do this, go to "Settings" → "General" → "Profiles & Device Management" / "VPN and Device Management" (in newer iOS versions). If this menu does not exist, you can proceed directly to step 2.
In the section "CONFIGURATION PROFILE" all Eduroam profiles have to be removed. 2. Step: Download "geteduroam" in the App Store and install a secure eduroam-ProfileA few settings and the installation of a security certificate are necessary for a secure connection setup. The latter ensures that your device does not simply trust any (malicious) access point and pass on your login data.
The installation of the certificate as well as the configuration do not have to be done manually. For this purpose, there is the app "geteduroam" from the developer SURF B.V. in the Apple App Store - which can be downloaded.
After starting the app, the profile for Friedrich Schiller University is browsed and selected. Tap on "Next".
In the field "User name" enter the URZ login with "@uni-jena.de" directly attached, e.g. ab12cde@uni-jena.de (not the e-mail address), in the field "Password" enter the corresponding password.
After entering the login data, the app installs the security certificate and creates a WLAN connection profile for eduroam. This must be allowed. 3. Step: Establish Eduroam connection with URZ login (Universitätsrechenzentrum, engl. University Computer Center)
Tapping on "Connect" will immediately attempt to establish a connection.
If an access point is within range and the entered data is valid, the connection is established successfully. If the Eduroam is out of range during setup, the device will connect later as soon as it finds an access point. Congratulations! You have successfully set up Eduroam on your device.
